Congrats Texans fans!!! You have been given another excuse for losing a game. You have been given another incident to bring up when some fans from other teams ask you why you have finished 8-8.....again. The conversation will go as follows: “The Texans are awful. They are 4-5.” Then the response from delusional Texans fans, “Yea but that was a one in a million play,” and “Well they played well in the second half." You can use those along with the excuse made popular last year which was, “Yea but or kicker blah blah blah,” or some perennial favorites such as “I can't believe that ball stayed in bounds,” or “That was a terrible call,” or “Some of our starters were injured or suspended for shooting HGH into their eyes." We can keep using these excuses as a way of protecting ourselves against actually putting a winning team on the field. God forbid we stop making excuses for our team and start holding players and coaches accountable for mediocrity.
I do not want to name drop any names of teams that do not make excuses and strive for excellence year in and year out.....STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...................
and I do not intend to. The fact of the matter is this, the Texans are never going to be great with a coordinator at the head coaching spot. Go ask the Cowboys how that worked out. I implore you Bob Mcnair, swallow that Kubiak contract and give Jon Gruden a blank check. We have the talent and the systems to be great and we have a window for the next couple of years to stay that way. I do not want to see the Texans turn into the Chargers (who currently have a coordinator at coach and are 3-5) or Cowboys who have crazy loads of talent and nothing to show for it. But hey, we are Houston!!! Little brother to the Dallas Cowboys!!! We do not truly care about winning! We just want to get drunk and tailgate and make-up outrageous reasons for losses!!!! Yeehaw!!!!!!!
So get your excuses ready Houston for when you go to work this week or when you go out with your buddies. My best advice to you would be to come up with some new ones because you are going to need them when you try to defend your underachieving, over-hyped and overrated team.
You're opinion will always be bias, jesse. Jones needs to dump garret and get gruden. He just spent a billion dollars on a stadium that his team can't win in. He needs to protect his investment and get a real coach. Oh and I see the cowboys finishing better than the texans and that makes me sad
ReplyDeleteThe Cowboys are going to lose 3 or 4 in a row.. Not going to happen.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion is based on logic and fact. If that’s biased then so be it. And don’t get me started on Cowboys fans living in Houston. Despite themselves, the Texans have three more sure wins on their schedule: Titans, Broncos and Jags. The Cowboys have four losses on their schedule (the Michael Vicks twice, Colts and Saints). Now I’m no math major, but I think that’s 7 to 5. Also Phillips or no Phillips, the Cowboys were bad when they were at full strength--1-4 if I remember correctly. So you take Kitna and Stephen McGee and I’ll take anybody else. Gruden is perfect for the Texans with the system he runs offensively and the leadership this team needs.
ReplyDeleteSo you're saying the cowboys don't need leadership? Their leadership issues go past coaching. Romo isn't a leader. Keith brooking is the most leadership that team has. Kitna is doing surprising ly well but that won't last long. I think the cowboy will lose to the saint and eagles once. They will pull a win out of their ass against the eagles and squeak by the colts. Oh and I'm surprised you don't know that I'm not from houston in fact you and drew were the biggest 49ers fans not long ago so don't give me that
ReplyDeleteI think the point Haus is trying to make is that the Texans will never be good until everyone admits that they suck and need the changes. Otherwise the excuses will keep coming. I'm not sure what the Cowboys vs Texans records has to do with that. In fact, I'm sure you have said the same things 10245021234 times over-- that the Texans suck and that the fans need to admit it. Haus is just trying to make it constructive instead of just bitching.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, Dallas as a whole just sucks. Football, town, just everything.
If you actually read what I posted, I was agreeing with him about how coordinators usually don't make good head coaches. I would love to see Gruden come to Houston so at least Texas would have at least 1 decent football team but I was saying that it would make more sense that Dallas would pick him up rather than Houston.
ReplyDelete-daniel, you're opinion naturally sucks and all I have to say is which town has more superbowl wins..... Yeah that's what I thought. gg. no re. k thx buh
Haus, I missed what you said earlier about the Texans have 3 more sure wins. Broncos...maybe. But what makes you so sure the Texans can beat the Titans and Jags? The Jags winning the last game may have been a fluke but who's to say they wouldn't have won it in OT anyway? Just because Vince Young is out doesn't mean the Titans are gonna lose. I think Kerry Collins is gonna jump start the offense with his experience because he's gonna make Randy Moss a factor which will open up the running game for Johnson. I wouldn't count them out, just saying.....
ReplyDelete1st, Kerry Collins isn't playing, he has a calf injury..
ReplyDelete2nd, I was a 49er fan when Houston didn't have a team. I was more of a follower than anything.
3rd, The Cowboys are not going to be 18 and the Colts. They will lose to the Saints, Colts and Eagles (twice). Maybe to the Redskins.. I will give yall a win @ Arizona. So, 2-4 closing out the season.
4th, The Texans will beat the Titans (twice), Jags, Broncos, and have a huge win on Monday Night vs. the Ravens. Lose to the Eagles. 5-1 going out.
Cowboys 5-11
Texans 9-7
Elton you owe me money.
Collins is getting the start and will do what I said. Peyton will shred the cowboys. Defense but they will still lose. Saints will choke again on thanksgiving and the cowboys will upset them 2 years in a row. Dallas will lose to philly at home but win in philly. Redskins..... Pfffft... Ill give ya the comment about the 49ers , well played. Doesn't negate the fact that I'm not from houston though. Cowboys 7-9. Texans 6-10
ReplyDeleteHow are they going to beat the colts?? Need I remind you again, the cowboys were 1-5 at full strength.. Now they have the all mighty Kitna to beat Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Vick... All MVP worthy..
ReplyDeleteOh and also,
http://www.titansonline.com/news/article-1/Rookie-QB-Smith-Gets-Early-Start-to-Work-Week/590b184b-02c1-47ac-b029-9892622c2fb7
go there, collins isn't starting. Don't fool yourself... Uncle Kerry is trash..
both Dallas and Houston are playing terrible. Dallas will probably finish 6-10 at best and Houston will go 7-9. Elton you owe Drew money.
ReplyDeleteThough "HAUS" is an endearing name you will always be FLUFFY to me.
ReplyDeleteWith that being said, Gruden would be a nice addition but not my first choice. Bill Cowher is my vote for the best chance Houston has at greatness. The general consensus of what the Texans lack most is leadership, passion, intensity, and most of all a coach that commands respect and demands greatness. These are the reasons I choose Cowher, not to take anything away from Gruden, but Bill commands a quiet respect without having to demand it.
